DAY 1 – Ainhoa – Aizpun – 153 km
Short warm-up day: small roads interspersed anthology sections on tracks that cling to the green mountains. Just after lunch, the route is walking a tightrope by moving up on a quilted ridgeline wind turbine, and much steeper.
Dotted with horses, sheep, cattle and goats, the place is fabulous. Bracken, heather, gentian and digital line the embankment. A thousand scents of flowers perfume a well colored meadow.
In this motley pasture, a strange strand passage of our helmeted procession of cows with silky caramel dresses and fine blond curls are busy chewing on some grass …
DAY 2 – Aizpun – VEGA DE PAS – 323 km
It grows in strength. The relief is accentuated to the delight of all. But it is necessary to keep some under the foot early in the day because we are facing a sacred stage, a longer stay.

DAY 3 – VEGA DE PAS – LUGEROS – 284 km
The track undulates through endless plateaus where the sky seems here a little larger than elsewhere … Open your peepers, the film moves in Cinemascope and you are the main actor!
We take altitude in the afternoon. It spans a last cord to switch into deep and narrow gorges where our accommodation is nestled.
DAY 4 – LUGEROS – Sorbeira – 180 km
While striding truly breathtaking scenery, calm down a little play at the relief. Rest assured, the respite is short-lived! In the afternoon, the course is unleashed again in the barren mountains. The track gesticulating in all directions before running aground in a remote little valley.
DAY 5 – Sorbeira – TREFACIO – 156 km
In the early stage, our wanderings wander between vineyards and cherry orchards. And, the highlight of the morning, only we had not promised a beautiful new surprise for the lunch break? Poised above a carpeted valley of chestnut trees, sitting there in the heart of Médulas, a magical region, a magical restaurant just waiting for fellow adventurers with small rustic specialties concocted by Maria … Then the plot débine is again in the mountains before diving in Margarita.
DAY 6 – TREFACIO – ALMEIDA – 287 km
In an atmosphere of Far West, the route we will soon embark on typical hamlets crushed by heat. Paved alleys to serve dislocated houses mostly deserted. At lunchtime, a tantalizing aroma draws us there in full dodger, to an unexpected restaurant … Going to Portugal, the route is quickly installed on the overhangs of the Douro. In the afternoon, beautiful slopes spin resolutely facing south. Some portions sometimes sandy wind between huge boulders, ending in Almeida.
DAY 7 – ALMEIDA – NAVALUENGA – 332 km
Between holm oak groves, a smooth track stretches arid plateaus, to take us back to Spain with a first morning stop in the fortified town of Ciudad Rodrigo. And it left immediately for new ascents and other discoveries in the Sierra de Gredos.
DAY 8 – NAVALUENGA – CAMPILLO-DE-RANAS – 317 km
The festival continues from the first laps once left El Hotelito! … The equipped ricochets off the edge of a sprawling lake before getting lost in the tall pines. The last stone bridge buttressed by the river. A concrete path zigzags on rocky shoals. And suddenly, here we landed in the village with black stones …
These 300 km then you give you the delicious feeling of crossing several countries …
DAY 9 – CAMPILLO-DE-RANAS – TUDELA – 364 km
A track full of wandering spirits relentlessly in an infinite landscape. After the aptly named Vulture Canyon, hanging on the balcony
of el-bust and red rocks very deep, bold slide raises the breakaway on the threshold of a desert area. What show !
DAY 10 – TUDELA – Ainhoa – 303 km
The route starts with a beautiful and surprising journey into the desert of the Bardenas. Next, directo took it towards the Pyrenees. After Larau, tiny ridges and steep road grip the Basque Country. That hand drifts in all directions.
Between banana trees and ferns, the last stretch tumbling towards Ainhoa for a return to our starting point.
